EBEN JUNCTION — Superior Central School District in Eben Junction was closed on Friday due to a potential threat to the school, said Superintendent Bill Valima.

Valima made the announcement in an email to parents and staff Thursday as well as a post on SCSD’s website and Facebook. “Law enforcement is currently investigating the threat,” he said in the statement. “Out of an abundance of caution and to allow time for a thorough investigation, I have decided that Superior Central will be closed tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 6. Thank you for understanding.”

Officials from Forest Park School District in Crystal Falls posted a similar message on Facebook announcing its closure around 6 a.m. Friday, though there was no mention of a threat.
