ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming Multi-Purpose Senior Center will be hosting its annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Friday.

Area residents are invited to participate in walking to Lake Bancroft and back along with good company, snacks and music.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the largest event to raise funds and awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. The center also has a West End Warriors team that plans to participate in the Marquette walk scheduled for Saturday. With more than 6 million Americans currently living with Alzheimer’s and over 11 million family and friends providing their unpaid care, any amount of funds raised will contribute to a worthy cause.

The Ishpeming event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Ishpeming Multi-Purpose Senior Center, located at 121 Greenwood St. in Ishpeming.
