Charity sewing artists to raise funds for breast cancer awareness
By Journal Staff
NEGAUNEE — Time Flies Quilt and Sew in Negaunee will be participating in sewing company ByAnnie’s #SEWPINK Breast Cancer Awareness Sew-a-thon in October.
Customers are encouraged to stop by and help create some ByAnnie Bosom Buddies or mastectomy pillows, with donations going toward breast cancer awareness, research and support.
Time Flies will stream the event from 4 to 5 p.m., on Wednesday and has slots available for people to come sew in the morning from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or in the afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.
Cost is a $5 donation to book a spot for those interested in in-person sewing.
Those who cannot make it to the shop in-person can follow along with the livestream on ByAnnie’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
The shop recommends that participants bring their sewing machines, any sewing implements they want to use, and patterns which can be found on Time Flies’ website.
Participants can bring their own fabric and pink fabric from the shop will be offered at 20% off to be used for the project that day.
