MARQUETTE — H.J. Larson and Sons has announced the sale of one of its properties, the Ramada Inn, to a new company — MQT Collection6, LLC, an affiliate of the Base Hospitality Group — was effective on Tuesday.

Harlan J. Larson built the Downtowner Hotel in downtown Marquette in 1961 and later built the Ramada Inn on the original site of the Downtowner Hotel.

A news release states that H.J. Larson and Sons is optimistic that the new owners will continue the tradition of quality hospitality that has been built over the past 63 years. The new company has taken over ownership and intends to keep the majority of the employees that are currently employed at the Ramada Inn.

H.J. Larson and Sons will continue with its ownership of the Holiday Inn and the Hampton Inn in Marquette.

The Holiday Inn recently underwent a major remodeling project. The award-winning Hampton Inn is set for remodeling and upgrades in the future to continue its reputation as one of the best hotels in the area.

Starting at $3.23/week.
