MARQUETTE — Celebrate the dynamic art scene along the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula as the Marquette Art Tour returns for its fourth annual citywide tour. This art adventure commences from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, with a fall edition of the tour set for Oct. 19.

The Marquette Art Tour invites both locals and visitors to embark on a journey through the thriving artistic landscape of Marquette. Featuring a curated selection of galleries and studios showcasing exceptional artists from the Upper Peninsula and the Midwest, attendees can expect an unparalleled cultural experience.

Offering a self-guided format, the tour gives participants the freedom to explore at their own pace and visit over 10 participating locations with an array of artwork by more than 150 artists. Attendees can anticipate engaging activities such as guest pop-up artists, live art demonstrations, workshops, entertainment and more.

This year, the Marquette Art Tour introduces a new highlight: an “Art on Tap” segment, featuring guest artist Emerson Graves at Superior Culture. The segment will delve into the theme of “Crafting Creativity: Strategies for Thriving, Preventing Burnout and Blocks.”

Originating from a series that commenced in 1986 in Portland, OR, the Marquette Art Tour embraces the sense of community, celebrates local talent, engages the public, and positions Marquette as a prominent arts and cultural destination for travelers.

Organized by a committee of participating artists with support from the City of Marquette Office of Arts and Culture, the Marquette Art Tour is sponsored by Edge Partnerships for event branding, public relations and marketing, Travel Marquette for printed advertising, and Pride Printing.

For more information, printed guides are available at Travel Marquette and the city of Marquette Arts and Culture Office at the Peter White Public Library, as well as at participating locations.
