M-35 section to be resurfaced

GWINN — The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing about $517,000 to mill and resurface about one mile of M-35 between the West Branch of the Escanaba River and Willow Street in Gwinn.

The work, which will include asphalt milling and paving, sidewalk ramps, curb and gutter, and pavement markings, will start May 23 and is expected to conclude in early July.

One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained on M-35 using traffic regulators.

MDOT extimates that the work, which will improve the safety and operations of the roadway, provide a smoother driving surface and extend the life of the road, will directly and indirectly support six jobs.
