MARQUETTE — A Sunday structure fire on Front Street is being investigated by a Marquette city fire investigator, the Marquette Fire Department reported.

Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 420 N. Front St. at 11:05 p.m. Upon arrival, crews found a fully engulfed garage detached from the residence. No injuries were sustained.

With two hose lines, they quickly put out the fire but salvage and overhaul operations continued until approximately 1 a.m.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be looked at by a Marquette city fire investigator.

MFD was assisted by the Marquette Township Fire Department, Chocolay Township Fire Department, Marquette City Police Department, Marquette County Central Dispatch, UP Health Systems-Marquette, Marquette Board of Light and Power, as well as SEMCO Energy Gas Company.
