Missing elderly male returned safely

SKANDIA — An elderly male, missing for two hours, was returned home without incident.

At approximately 3 p.m., the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a missing person report in the area of Marquette County Road 545 in Skandia.

The subject, an elderly male with Alzheimer’s, left the residence and had not returned for over two hours.

Sheriff’s officers, Marquette County Search and Rescue, Michigan State Police and the Department of Natural Resources assisted in the search along with concerned neighbors.

After hearing yelling in the area about 400 yards from the subject’s residence, the missing man was safely returned to his spouse.
