Trivia night fundraiser helps support Forsyth Township Public Library

GWINN — The Fundraising Friends of Forsyth Township Public Library are planning their first trivia night fundraiser from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Up North Lodge events center in Gwinn.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward supporting library services and programming.

FTPL Director Leslie Makela said in an email to The Mining Journal that the Up North Lodge will operate its bar inside the events center during the event and a full menu will be available for participants who would like to enjoy appetizers or a full meal while they play.

In addition to tickets, proceeds from bucket raffles and 50/50 will go toward the library.

“With the continued success of the annual Tea Party, volunteers were looking for another way to raise money for the library,” Makela said. “Not only does the committee want to raise funds for the library, but they also want to provide a fun way for community members to socialize and learn about library services.”

The library’s Facebook page has an active event section where attendees can see bucket raffle prizes as they are donated and find more information about the event.

Makela said local businesses and library patrons have already donated items for the raffle.

Teams can have up to eight people. Tickets are available for a $10 donation, per person, to play and can be acquired at the library or trivia committee members. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door.
