ISHPEMING -- The Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority is marking the retirement of outgoing trail administrator Carol Fulsher.
The public is invited to enjoy appetizers, beverages and cake at Velodrome Coffee from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday in Ishpeming for Fulsher's retirement party.
Fulsher became involved with the Iron Ore Heritage Trail in the early days of its creation and served as a board representative for two years before being hired as the first administrator in 2010.
Her retirement was announced in June by the IOHT.
"These hot days make it even more enticing to retire and ride my bike," Fulsher said in a Facebook post. "I'll be retiring at the year's end and today we announce that Bob Hendrickson, the current Ishpeming Negaunee Chamber of Commerce executive director, will be coming on board as the next trail administrator."
Fulsher's last day will be Sunday, Dec. 31.
