Croney named Superintendent of Gwinn Area Community Schools

CRONEY

GWINN — Gwinn Area Community Schools has a new superintendent.

Dr. Sara Croney was selected by the Gwinn Area Community Schools Board of Education as the new superintendent of schools. Croney replaces former Superintendent Brandon Bruce, who accepted a position at a downstate school.

“The board was extremely impressed with Dr. Croney’s interview,” board president John Waldo said in a news release. “She had been serving as our interim so we got a chance to witness her work ethic, professionalism and commitment to the district before hiring her. We are lucky to have her join our team.”

Croney has a long career in education, most recently working as superintendent and director of curriculum and instruction in the Maple and Northwestern School District in Maple, Wisconsin.

Croney and her husband, Doug, moved to Gwinn in June to be close to two of their sons and families, according to the news release.

“The quality of educators and staff at Gwinn makes me wish our five children had the privilege of going to school here,” Croney said in the news release.
