U.P. health departments launch campaign to promote local public health

MARQUETTE -- A new partnership has been formed to promote local public health in the Upper Peninsula.
Six U.P. public health departments have teamed up to promote the importance of local public health, raise awareness of the public health services provided in local communities and build stronger community relationships, according to a press release from Local Public Health Cares.
The six U.P. departments that created the U.P. Local Public Health Partnership are:
≤ Chippewa County Health Department
≤ Dickinson-Iron District Health Department
≤ Luce-Mackinac-Alger-Schoolcraft District Health Department
≤ Marquette County Health Department
≤ Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties
≤ Western Upper Peninsula Health Department
According to LPH Cares' website, LPH Cares is a collaborative communications effort by all health departments in the U.P.
"The partnership's mission is to bring a local focus back to public health, ensuring all in the region have access to health and wellness services," LPH Cares notes on its website.
