Cambensy takes position with Michigan Tech University
Has started work as major gifts director for engineering school

HOUGHTON — Former state Rep. Sara Cambensy announced on Facebook that she started her journey this week as Michigan Tech University’s director of Major Gifts for the College of Engineering.
“It’s a great day to be a (Michigan Tech University) Husky,” Cambensy wrote on her Facebook page. “I started my journey as the Director of Major Gifts for the College of Engineering this week.”
Previously, Cambensy represented the 109th District of Michigan House of Representatives from 2017 to 2022. She was succeeded by Jenn Hill, D-Marquette, a former member of the Marquette City Commission.
Cambensy also served on the Marquette City Commission prior to being elected to the Michigan House.
She also served on the Marquette Planning Commission and was director of adult and continuing education for Marquette Area Public Schools.
“I’m excited to join the Michigan Tech Advancement Team, and helping carry on the tradition of excellence in alumni support,” Cambensy told The Mining Journal.
