Police chase results in minor injuries

K.I. SAWYER — Two Forsyth Township Police officers were left with minor injuries after attempting to conduct a traffic stop on Tuesday.
Officers from the FTPD attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 55-year-old Robert Jacobson, who was wanted for felony great bodily harm less than murder by strangulation.
Upon attempting to stop the vehicle, Jacobson attempted to elude the officers, reaching speeds in residential areas of K.I. Sawyer of over 80 mph, according to a FTPD press release.
Jacobson attempted to return to his residence where he was then apprehended by FTPD officers, arrested and lodged at the Marquette County Jail.
Two FTPD officers received minor injuries during the incident
Jacobson was lodged for the original charge of great bodily harm less than murder by strangulation. Additional charges for felony motor vehicle/fleeing and eluding will be submitted to the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
The FTPD was assisted by the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and the Forsyth Township Fire Department.
