ISHPEMING -- A road rage incident resulting in a stabbing occurred in Ishpeming on Thursday morning.
A 41-year-old man from out of state was stabbed following a road rage incident at approximately 2:57 a.m. on Thursday at the area of Division Street and Main Street.
The victim had non-life threatening injuries that were treated by EMS on the scene before he was released.
According to the city's press release, the victim was chased down by a vehicle with three individuals and confronted at the area of Division Street and Main Street.
The suspect is a 29-year-old Ishpeming man who was arrested at the scene and brought to the Marquette County Jail. According to the press release, his name will be withheld until after his arraignment.
"Violence is not going to be condoned in the city," Det. Sgt. Brandon Nylander said at the press conference Thursday.
Nylander said charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm and felonious assault are being pursued through the Marquette County Prosecutor's Office at this time.
He also said the suspect has no prior history of violence and the investigation is still ongoing.
