Actual Dumpster fire extinguished
MARQUETTE — The Marquette City Fire Department responded to 1020 Jefferson St. at 1:44 p.m. on Friday for a Dumpster fire.
On arrival crews found a smoldering fire in a trash bin. Area residents and police department units used extinguishers to knock down the flames. Six firefighters responded with units 2052 and 2056.
Firefighters deployed a 1.75-inch hose line and used 750 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported and damage was minimal.
The Marquette City Fire Department was assisted by the Marquette City Police Department and Northern Michigan University Public Safety.
