Fatal fire in Soo investigated
SAULT STE. MARIE — The four victims from a fatal fire in Sault Ste. Marie on March 14 have been identified.
The victims in the fire were 31-year-old Alicia Adzima and her three children, twin 4-year-old girls Ella and Eva Clossick and 1-year-old boy Emery Adzima. According to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department, the next of kin have been notified.
The investigation has determined that the fire was a homicide-suicide. According to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department’s press release, Alicia Adzima intentionally caused the fire with the intent to cause the deaths of her and her children.
Outside of this determination, the investigation is still open and no further information is being released at this time.
The Sault Ste. Marie fire and police departments were assisted by the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office and Victims Services Unit, Michigan State Police, MSP-Fire investigation Unit, MSP Crime Lab-Marquette, MSP Crime Lab-Grand Rapids and Chippewa County Central Dispatch.
