Menards customers can support ‘Vinnies’

MARQUETTE — Menards of Marquette customers have the chance throughout March to support their community during a company-wide partnership with local nonprofits.

This year, Menards of Marquette is teaming up with St. Vincent de Paul. Customers at Menards are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items that will be donated to those in need in the area.

“Every year we have a task to reach out to a local nonprofit organization,” said assistant general manager at Menards, Matt Neiderhiser. “This year we chose to contact St. Vincent de Paul. “We’ve worked with them in the past and they have always been good with us.”

Items can be purchased in store or dropped off at Menards in the drop box out front. They can include nonperishable foods such as canned goods, cereals and other items like macaroni and cheese are accepted.

“St. Vincent de Paul said that they are especially needy right now,” Neiderhiser said. “Whether it is this, or Toys for Tots, we always seem to have a lot of success with our community’s generosity.”

Neiderhiser said that signs are throughout the store and the drop boxes can be easily found at the exits.
