MARQUETTE — A 45-year-old Escanaba man was arrested Tuesday for impersonating a peace officer.

The Escanaba Department of Public Safety says that it responded to a business on the 900 block of North Lincoln Road with a report that a man was identifying himself as a police officer.

After an investigation, it was determined that 45-year-old Shawn LeClaire of Escanaba walked into the business, identified himself as a police officer, demanded to use the restroom in the business and threatened to arrest a worker before he left.

A few hours later, officers located LeClaire and arrested him for the misdemeanor charge of impersonating a peace officer.
