Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives offers up to $2,500 reward for information on St. Ignace arson

ST. IGNACE — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering an up to $2,500 reward for information, with a potential match of $2,500, leading to the identification and arrest of those responsible for the Enbridge pipeline maintenance shop and storage area fire in August.

Early morning on Aug. 31, a suspicious fire occurred at Enbridge’s St. Ignance site.

According to ATF’s press release, the fire involved several vehicles and pieces of equipment stored on site. There were no injuries to Enbridge employees nor did the fire impact any pipelines and the pipeline system continues to operate safely.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying who might have seen the individuals as well as any other information related to events leading up or immediately after the fire.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously using Reportit either on the app or online at reportit.com.

Information eligible for reward must lead to the arrest of an individual according to ATF’s press release. Tippers should provide as much information as possible relating to the identity and whereabouts of the individual(s). If reward is sought, tippers should include contact information.
