Marquette man arrested on multiple charges
MARQUETTE — A Marquette man was arrested by police last Wednesday on multiple charges, one of which involved a stolen motorcycle.
According to a news release from the Marquette Police Department, at approximately 8:40 p.m. last Wednesday, officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Longyear Avenue for a suspicious subject in the area. Upon arrival, officers contacted the subject, who was identified as Gerry Harold Fisk III, 32, of Marquette.
While speaking with Fisk, officers learned that he had outstanding warrants. The suspect then fled from officers but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. The suspect subsequently was arrested on the outstanding warrants, resisting and obstructing, and possession of methamphetamine.
As officers investigated further, a van in a nearby parking lot was identified as having been driven by Fisk. Officers observed a motorcycle in the rear of the van, which had recently been painted. The officers were aware there was a motorcycle that had been stolen on Oct. 11, and Fisk was listed as a possible suspect.
A search warrant was obtained and executed, and the motorcycle in the van was confirmed as the stolen motorcycle.
In addition to the prior charges, Fisk was also charged with motor vehicle-unlawful driving away, and receiving and concealing stolen property. Fisk is lodged in the Marquette County Jail.
