Superior Health Foundation now taking applications

MARQUETTE — The Superior Health Foundation is now accepting applications for year two of its Proactive Grant Focus process for projects positioned to make an impact on improving food insecurities throughout the entire Upper Peninsula.

“The Superior Health Foundation awarded nearly $510,000 in funding in year one to four organizations across the Upper Peninsula,” said Jim LaJoie, executive director of the Superior Health Foundation. “We recognize there were several non-profits that weren’t in position to apply for funding in year one. Thus, we encourage those organizations to submit requests for year two.”

The foundation will announce the award(s) at its Fall Grants Program, which will be held in October at the Holiday Inn in Marquette.

In 2021 and 2022, the SHF — along with a number of U.P. and statewide funding partners — will award more than $1.2 million in collective funding to address food insecurities.

SHF is open to renewing funding for year two, provided organization(s) successfully implement their year one plan and have a continued work plan for year two.

To apply for grant funding, visit the SHF home page at www.superiorhealthfoundation.org. For more information, call 906-225-6914 or email shf@superiorhealthfoundation.org.
