ISHPEMING — A 26-year-old Ishpeming man is in police custody after being suspected of assaulting a man with a hammer Thursday, a source within the Ishpeming Police Department confirms.

Late Thursday night, the City of Ishpeming Police Department responded to a call at 249 Davis St. after receiving a report of an assault with a weapon.
