Veterans Day event held at Jacobetti

Tracey Tippett, 2021 Michigan Veteran of the Year, 2021 Marquette County Veteran of the Year and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, is the keynote speaker at Thursday’s Veterans Day ceremony at Michigan Veteran Homes D.J. Jacobetti in Marquette. The event included messages from U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Lansing; U.S. Sen. Gary Peters, D-Bloomfield Hills; U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Watersmeet; state Rep. Sara Cambensy, D-Marquette; state Sen. Ed McBroom, R-Waucedah Township; state Rep. Greg Markkanen, R-Hancock; and state Sen. Wayne Schmidt, R-Traverse City. It also included the posting of the colors by the Northern Michigan University ROTC Color Guard. U.S. Navy veteran Charlie Hawes led taps while U.S. Marine Corps veteran Todd Miller led the Pledge of Allegiance. Soloist Kerry Yost provided the music. Ron Oja, administrator at MVH D.J.
