More COVID testing sites announced

MARQUETTE — COVID-19 testing sites at several local sites have been announced.

A new site will open at Westwood Mall, located at 3020 U.S. 41 West in Marquette Township, beginning Monday. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The site will offer free rapid antigen testing. In addition, polymerase chain reaction, or PCR, testing will be offered with a turnaround time of about 48 hours for results.

No appointment is necessary.

Individuals are asked to bring their insurance card, although people who do not have insurance will not be turned away, organizers said.

Additional testing and vaccination information can be found at the Marquette County Health Department website at mqthealth.org.

Sawyer International Airport also announced that testing will continue at the airport but will be limited to ticketed passengers or airport-credential tenants.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday via appointments or walk-ins.

Rapid and PCR tests are available at the site, with PCR lab results usually given within three days.

Tests are free, and insurance is accepted but not required. Visit www.solvhealth.com/ to register for an appointment at Sawyer.

To register for the Westwood Mall site, visit https://honumg.info/Westwood. Individuals also may call 866-809-8282 to find testing facilities throughout the state or to ask questions regarding the status of their results.

Airport officials said that due to the increase in COVID cases and the increased volume of testing by the nontraveling public at the airport, MedNext and Honu Management Group — which is partnering with the airport for testing — opened the second testing site at Westwood Mall.

At both locations, children under age 18 need parental consent.
