ISHPEMING -- One person is dead after a fatal crash that occurred in Ishpeming Township over the weekend.
The crash happened around 5 p.m. Sunday when a pickup truck traveling southbound on County Road CG struck a northbound side-by-side, according to a news release from the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post.
The side-by-side driver, identified as 64-year-old Joseph Nault of Ishpeming, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The unidentified truck driver was transported to Bell Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Nault and the truck driver were the only two occupants of the vehicles, police said. The incident remains under investigation.
Assisting MSP troopers at the scene were the Ishpeming Township Fire Department, UP Health Systems EMS and the Marquette County Sheriff's Office.
