3-year-old girl found safe after wandering away from Chocolay Township home

CHOCOLAY TOWNSHIP — A 3-and-a-half-year-old girl was reunited with her parents after wandering away from their home in Chocolay Township Wednesday.

According to the Chocolay Township Police Department, the girl was located roughly 0.3 miles from the home safe and sound after a neighbor located the girl playing in their yard. Officers went onto assist in reuniting the toddler with her parents.

The Chocolay Township Police Department was assisted by the Michigan State Police, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Tribal Police Department in the search effort.
