MARQUETTE — A retail franchise called Shoe Sensation is coming to Marquette Township this spring.

The store will be located in the plaza off of U.S. 41 that currently houses Pet Smart and Ulta Beauty, with Shoe Sensation to be located between the two retailers, offcials said.

Company officials look forward to connecting in a positive way to the community through local charities and schools, Shoe Sensations area director Jenny Franklin told the Journal in an email on Friday.

“We are a family shoe store that goes into smaller towns. We want to be connected with the community and support local,” she said. “We join the chamber (of commerce) and look forward to partnering with local charities, schools, etc. We carry name-brand shoes for the entire family at reasonable prices. We also carry work and safety shoes.”

The company has an online website that carries name-brand footwear with sizes from toddler to adult, offering athletic, casual, sandals, dress shoes and boots.

Company officials said they hope to have a grand opening at the end of April or beginning of May. For now, the company is working to carpet and paint the store while hiring employees for all positions.
