ISHPEMING — The body of a 50-year-old man was discovered in Ishpeming on Sunday.

The Ishpeming Police Department was dispatched at approximately 1:34 p.m. Sunday to the report of a deceased male at the end of Cliffs Drive near Lake Minnie, according to an IPD press release.

Two fishermen in the area made the initial report to police.

The name of the deceased, who was a former city of Marquette resident, will not be released at this time, officials said.

“The incident does not appear to be suspicious in nature and no foul play is suspected,” the release states.

An autopsy is pending and the investigation is ongoing.
