MARQUETTE — The deceased individual found by two fishermen on Cliffs Drive on Sunday has been identified as 50-year-old Eric Heinz Gaenssle, the city of Ishpeming Police Department reported.

An autopsy completed at Upper Peninsula Health System-Marquette showed the cause of death was due to medical issues and no foul play is suspected.

Police were sent to the end of Cliffs Drive near Lake Minnie at about 1:24 p.m. Sunday on a report of a deceased male.

The body of the former Marquette resident was found by two individuals who arrived at the lake to fish.
