A gas line along the multi-use path near South Fourth Street in Marquette was ruptured early Monday afternoon. The leak occurred just after noon on Monday, and a strong gas smell was present within the general area. According to Marquette Board of Light and Power administrative services manager Matthew Zavislak, an MBLP crew was working in the area near the bike path and came into contact with the gas line. Zavislak said repairs to the line were made without incident and all crews are safe. The Marquette City Fire Department assisted MBLP crews at the scene. (Journal photo by Ryan Spitza)
