LANSING — Michigan Economic Developers Association recently appointed Amy Clickner, Lake Superior Community Partnership chief executive officer, to secretary of its board of directors.

MEDA is a professional society with members throughout the state that attract and grow business, create and retain jobs and make our communities a better place to live. Clickner has served on the MEDA board for over nine years.

“I am honored to serve as Secretary for the Michigan Economic Developers Association,” Clickner said. “The LSCP has been a part of MEDA for many years, including being part of the host committee when their annual conference was in Marquette in 2019. It is important for the Upper Peninsula to be part of this statewide organization that supports the economic development profession.”

Clickner started in economic development more than 20 years ago as the only employee of LSCP, where she is now the CEO with a staff of nine. During that time, she has become a certified economic developer through the International Economic Development Council and a certified fundraising manager through the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. She is a past president of MEDA, serves on MEDA’s Advocacy Committee, and was the 2019 annual meeting committee chair, successfully leading the committee to break the record for sponsorship support.

Clickner recently received the Mike Conboy Professional Development award. The Conboy award is given to MEDA members who have made substantial, long-term contributions/commitment to MEDA, specifically focusing on the advancement of the economic development profession through support of education/training and/or by expanding the knowledge base of economic developers.

The Michigan Economic Developers Association has collaborated with economic developers to grow their community in Michigan for 60 years.
