‘Burner’ topples over in Nahma

A landmark structure in Delta County’s Nahma, known locally as the burner, fell overnight. More than 100 years old and 100 feet tall, the structure was once a part of the Bay de Noc Lumber Co. operations in Nahma. It was used to incinerate bark, branches and other waste from the lumber process. The photo show what the structure looks like this morning. (Photo courtesy of Jeanne Kennedy)
