Mark Slown, city manager, city of Ishpeming

ISHPEMING — Ishpeming City Manager Mark Slown has submitted his resignation.

Slown confirmed today that he will step down from the position effective June 5, due to health reasons. He declined to offer further comment at this time.

The council is expected to consider Slown’s resignation and how to replace him at an upcoming meeting, officials say.

Slown was hired in Ishpeming in 2013. Prior to that he had worked as city manager of downstate Rogers City and Oxford.
