MARQUETTE — The 25th Outback Art Fair takes place this weekend at Shiras Park along Lakeshore Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

According to the Outback Art Fair website, more than 100 vendors will line the bike path at the park, locally known as Picnic Rocks, to display their hand-made arts and crafts for patrons to peruse.

“It’s going to be an awesome show this year,” said fair organizer Cindy Engle. “The park is beautiful, and it is a great time and it is an enjoyable time to spend a Saturday to Sunday afternoon.”

Attendees can expect to find a wide variety of artisan goods for sale, such as pottery, metalworks, fibers, photography and beadwork.

The craft show has developed a good reputation among artists and shoppers alike. Engle said vendors travel from as far away as Texas to be a part of the Outback experience.

“A lot of it (artist recruitment) happens word of mouth,” she said. “Our vendors love our show and tell people about where their favorite shows are and those people who hear it contact us.”

Besides crafts, Outback will have food vendors present. Superior Mobile Koney, Senors Food Truck and Sugar Island Kettle Corn are a few delicious reasons to attend.
