HARVEY – Fraco Concrete Products is being purchased by the owners of Ishpeming-based construction company A. Lindberg & Sons Inc., officials confirmed this week.
The Crimmins family is expected to close on the purchase of Fraco by May 1, according to an announcement from Fraco President Lincoln Frazier.
“The outlook for the construction and concrete industries in the Central Upper Peninsula for 2016 and beyond is very positive, and all the involved parties are excited about this new business venture,” Frazier said in the prepared statement.
Fraco is expected to continue operating as a separate company and offer all of its current products under the new ownership, Frazier said, and all roughly 25 employees are expected to be retained.
Frazier will keep his role as president, while Terry Bengry will remain operations manager for the company, which is located at 200 Cherry Creek Road, Harvey.
Other terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Frazier said A. Lindberg & Sons, which operates various quarries and gravel pits in Marquette County, has been a Fraco customer for years. But the gravel pit operator also supplies Fraco with stone and sand used in the company’s concrete products, resulting in a symbiotic relationship.
Fraco, which is owned by the Frazier family, has supplied concrete block, ready mix concrete and other masonry products in northern Michigan for more than 60 years.
