ELY TOWNSHIP — Voters in Ely Township approved two millage proposals Tuesday.

The Ely Township Operating Millage was renewed 273-122. The 2 mill millage or $2 per $1,000 of taxable value, will override the previous millage reduction of 1.9932 mills, or $1.9932 per $1,000 of taxable value. The millage will be collected each year from 2023 to 2027.

The operating millage renewal is expected to raise an estimated $128,418.00 in the first year levied.

Voters also approved the Ely Township Garbage Collection and Disposal Millage by a vote of 248-148. The 3.0 mill millage will levy $3 per $1,000 of taxable value.

The new millage will override the previous millage reduction of 1.9932 mills, or $1.9932 per $1,000 of taxable value.

The updated levy is expected to raise an estimated $192,627.00 in the first year.
