ISHPEMING — A new executive director for the Greater Ishpeming-Negaunee Area Chamber of Commerce has been named.

Samantha LaJeunesse was announced as the GINCC’s new executive director, succeeding former executive director Bob Hendrickson on Tuesday.

“I really look forward to bringing some new ideas to the GINCC and the community as a whole,” LaJeunesse said in a press release. “My goal is to expand our membership and bring our local businesses together. As a team I believe we can make a stronger and more enjoyable community.”

Hendrickson will leave his position with the GINCC at the end of June to work for the Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority as trail administrator for the nonprofit.

Hendrickson and LaJeunesse will work together during the transition, according to the press release.
