Digitized Mining Journal

Issues Now Available via UPLINK

Many digital collections documenting the history of the Upper Peninsula are now accessible and searchable on the Upper Peninsula Digital Network (UPLINK) website. Visit uplink.nmu.edu to learn more. Collections that are already online or that will be online in the next few weeks include issues of The Marquette Mining Journal from 1868-1885 and 1916-1924. We will continue to add more issues of The Mining Journal thanks to a very, very generous donation, but we are continuing to accept donations in order to complete the project. More issues to be added throughout the year.

UPLINK began in 2021 with a two-year implementation grant from the NHPRC (National Historical Publications and Records Commission). It is a consortium of heritage organizations (archives, libraries, museums, and historical societies) intended to pool resources and skills to make digitization and digital preservation affordable for small organizations.
