On Easter Sunday, the Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly, in partnership with the Marquette Elks Lodge, prepared and delivered 175 ham dinners to Marquette County seniors, according to organizers. Led by Erin Shei, volunteer coordinator for Little Brothers, more than a dozen Elks and other area volunteers assisted in cooking the food, assembling meal trays and packaging the meals in bags decorated by local school children, organizers said. Another dozen volunteer drivers picked up the packaged meals and hand-delivered them to the seniors’ homes. Each senior received a full dinner meal, as well as a fresh carnation and treat boxes supplied by the Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team. (Photos courtesy of Pam Laurich)
