Nemanja Bogunovic to perform

MARQUETTE — Enjoy an evening of classical guitar music with Nemanja Bogunovic at 7 p.m. Monday in the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room on the lower level.

Described as a “guitarist of poetic musicality” and a “gentleman with a guitar,” Nemanja Bogunovic began playing at the age of seven, performing his first concert at the age of ten. He graduated from the Conservatory of Music in Belgrade and debuted in Belgrade which the Serbian press called “totally remarkable.”

Now he is a world-renowned classical guitarist and composer giving recitals throughout the United States and Europe, performing for heads of state such as Jimmy Carter and Mikhail Gorbachev.

In addition to performing, Bogunovic arranges music for guitar and writes original compositions. He has three solo albums, two books of transcriptions for guitar, and a composite of original work entitled Complete Guitar Works. He just released a new album with Strings Attached entitled “Bogunovic plays Bogunovic with Strings Attached.”

Join Bogunovic as he shares his music and talent at the library.

There is no admission charge to attend thanks to sponsorship by the Carroll Paul Memorial Trust Fund of the Peter White Public Library. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
