MARQUETTE — In 2019, National Alliance on Mental Illness is celebrating 17 years of NAMIWalks, the nation’s largest mental health awareness and fundraising event.

NAMIWalks Northern Michigan will be Sept.14 at Mattson Lower Harbor Park, Marquette. Check-in is at 8 a.m. with a start time of 10 a.m.

A release from NAMI states 20% of children ages 13-18 have, or will have, a serious mental illness and 43.8 million adults experience mental illness in a given year.
