Down memory lane with Mary Jayne
I hope I do not begin to be repetitious as I may have used this before but always seems to be of interest here in Munising. This above being the “Mather March” (now known as the “Munising March”) was written by Coy Eklund and arranged by his friend Abe Glenn Osser, also of Munising. In his professional career Coy worked for Equitable Life Assurance. Abe became an American musician arranger, orchestra leader, songwriter, and wrote the theme song for Miss America and directed the orchestra in the annual Miss America program. From a personal note he lived on Chocolay Street in Munising in the same house I was raised until I was 6 years old. I later met him as an adult while taking group pictures of high school reunions. So let us CHEER FOR MATHER HIGH!
