Ishpeming’s St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry sees food shortage

ISHPEMING — The St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry in Ishpeming is addressing a severe food shortage and urgently requests help from the public.
The Ishpeming food pantry services more than 300 households and with the holiday season coming up it is more important that ever the pantry is stocked.
St. Vincent De Paul in Ishpeming made a public Facebook post highlighting the food shortage, by posting photos of its bare shelves and asking the public to donate, “Please help feed a hungry neighbor,” declared the post. “Please consider donating non-perishable foods to our pantry.”
Local businesses are already pitching in, like Sherries restaurant in Ishpeming, which has set up a donation box and is already gathering supplies for the St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry.
“St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry in Ishpeming is asking for donations, so the Sherries family is coming together to try and help stock their shelves,” said Kelly Davey, a Sherries restaurant employee in a public release. “Bring a non-perishable food item or two next time you come in to eat. We will be very appreciative. Help feed a hungry neighbor.”
