Shopper’s delight: Big Holiday Craft Show features more than 70 vendors

KINGSFORD — Get into the holiday spirit early at the annual Daily News Newspapers in Education Big Holiday Craft Show on Saturday in Kingsford.

The 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. event is expected to draw thousands to Kingsford Middle/High School, 445 Hamilton Ave. Admission is free.

The Big Holiday Craft Show grows more popular every year, drawing crafters and vendors from throughout the Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin, plus many direct sales companies.

It once again is sold out with more than 70 vendors — many of them new this year, said Jennifer Flynn, Daily News regional circulation manager/NIE coordinator.

“Our Big Holiday Craft Show is the local start to a lot of people’s Christmas shopping. There is such a variety of items and services all under one roof,” Flynn said.

This year’s show at Kingsford Middle/High School will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Those include homemade alpaca wool items, baked goods, crocheted animals, raffle tickets, handmade blankets, hats, rugs, leather earrings, wood and resin crafts, Tastefully Simple products, Pure Romance, NuSkin, handmade soaps, scrubs, soy candles, wax melts, local authors selling and autographing their books, sports collectibles, upcycled mittens, maple syrup, jams, local honey, jewelry, home decor signs, wreaths and Christmas decor, and so much more.

Concessions — including the ever-popular beefy nachos, hot turkey sandwiches and pulled pork — will be available on site through the Kingsford Music Booster Club until mid-afternoon in the cafeteria. They also will have yogurt cups, breakfast pizza, fruit and donuts for breakfast.

Community members are encouraged to come support the vendors and crafters, as well as the booster club.

For more information on the event, call Flynn at 906-774-2772, ext. 218.
