Community rummage sales start off this weekend

QUINNESEC — Local communities are gearing up for their annual community-wide rummage sales.

This weekend kicks off the thrifting for area shoppers.

≤ The fourth-annual Quinnesec Community-Wide Rummage Sales is planned Saturday and Sunday in Breitung Township.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; however, individuals can set their own times. Days also are only suggested, as some sellers have decided to open Friday.

The public can go to the Quinnesec rummage sale Facebook page for a map of locations, detailed dates and hours of each sale listed and a brief description of items for sale.

Printed maps will also be available this weekend.

≤ The Niagara Area City-Wide Rummage Sales are set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, in Niagara, Wis.

The event is sponsored by the Niagara Area Business Association.

Residents who are still interested in having their sale listed can register their sale on the events NABA Facebook page. They are asked to include their address along with highlights of the sale.

≤ The 36th-annual Norway City-Wide Garage Sale is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18.

The annual event includes more than 100 participants in the Norway area.

Registration for participants is open through Saturday, May 11. Residents can sign up at Northern Interstate Bank or Norway City Hall. Cost of registration is $5. The registration fee includes listing on the map, a yard sign and advertising.

Lists of participants and map of the city will be available online the afternoon of Thursday, May 16, at www.norwaymi.gov and at Norway businesses.

≤ The Felch-Foster City area also plans to have a community garage sale starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 18.

Those who wish to be included in the map can post to the Felch garage sale’s Facebook page.

≤ The Florence County Annual Rummage and Craft Sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1.

Rural residents and crafters are invited to set up on the lawn of the Florence County Fairgrounds, 5505 County N just south of Florence, Wis.

Local businesses will offered lunch specials that day.

Those wishing to register to be included on the area map directory can call 715-528-5999 with their address by Monday, May 27. Participation is free.

The Friends of the Florence County Library will again participate in the community rummage sale. The group is now accepting non-clothing items for the sale. Items can be dropped off at the library or librarian Stephanie Weber can be called for pick up.

As in the past, the sale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall on Quinnesec Street.

The fundraiser goes to support programming, purchasing of books and media, and other activities, such as recent holiday craft kits for youngsters coming to the library.

≤ The fourth-annual Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine Community Garage Sale Day is set for Saturday, June 8. Shoppers can visit local participants from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents from any of the three towns who would like to be listed on the flier can go to the event Facebook page. The deadline to sign up is Friday, May 31.

≤ Kingsford will have its City-Wide Garage Sales from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15.

Registration is open to Kingsford residents only. Participants can register online or at the Kingsford City Hall, which will get sales sites listed on the map. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, June 5.

≤ The Crystal Falls Business Association has set the weekend of Aug. 23-24 for this year’s city-wide rummage sales event, in conjunction with the Humongous Fungus Festival.

Rummage sale times are currently set from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Participants can sign up with the CFBA to register their address before Aug. 15. Forms are available on https://crystalfallsmi.com.

Maps will be available at various locations and provided Thursday before the sale.
