Our first spotlight is Campfire Coffee, located in downtown Negaunee! We sat down with General Manager Allison Carpenter to talk about Iron Street construction and what’s coming soon to Campfire Coffee.

“The campfire is a way of life in the UP,” Carpenter says. “That way of life is instilled in every cup for every customer. Our brand wants to be rustic. Look where we live, it’s a way of life up here and we want to embody that coziness with our brand.”.

Campfire Coffee opened its doors just over two years ago and has been a staple of Iron Street ever since. They are known of course for the fantastic coffee selection, but the store has much more to offer than just spectacular coffee.

Recently, Campfire has started producing their own baked goods in house, leaving a phenomenal aroma as you walk in. Campfire also offers a light lunch menu featuring a Jalapeno Popper sandwich, salads, and pudgy pies. There are drink options for the non-coffee drinkers, including Red bull mixers and a selection of tea.

Campfire Coffee is, of course, in the process of getting a new street and sidewalk, but business hasn’t slowed down as much as you’d think.

“Nate (Heffron) and the city have been very supportive,” Carpenter told us. “He and other city workers have popped in to check up on us, and honestly the community has been very supportive since the beginning of construction. Some days are a little slow, but overall construction hasn’t stopped us.”

Beyond the street upgrades, Campfire has also been working on a plethora of improvements internally, but their newest creation isn’t in the kitchen. A website makeover and mobile app have been in development and are just about ready for launch.

“Our big update is our website redesign and the launch of our mobile app,” Carpenter said. “We are super excited about the app and it should be available soon. With all the parents dropping their kids off at school in the morning, we hope this can save them some time on their morning commute.”

Campfire also hopes the app can enhance customer engagement and allow their customers to see all the options that come with each item while streamlining purchasing and getting customers on their way as quickly as possible.

Beyond all the exciting new features coming to Campfire Coffee, they’re also running a Summer Clothing Sale, so stop in for 30% off all summer clothing items while getting a fantastic pour of coffee!
