MARQUETTE – Honor Credit Union celebrated the official groundbreaking of its new Marquette Member Center location on June 28.

Honor CEO Scott McFarland began with a welcome. He spoke of the importance of a community that supports one another, and recognized the contributions of those in attendance.

McFarland thanked several key community individuals who made the new location possible, including representatives from Marquette Township, Jeff Goodney, and his team from Closner Construction, and Travis Hongisto from Integrated Designs.

Marquette Member Center Manager, Jamie Armatti highlighted what the new location will bring to the Marquette area, its credit union member-owners, and the importance of a community focus.

“The new Marquette Member Center is going to be bigger and more beautiful than we could ever have hoped for with double the space, including a new reservable community meeting space,” Armatti said. “We look forward to watching our community thrive and prosper, both now and in the years ahead when we open our doors to this new location in 2024.”

The representatives from Marquette Township who were in attendance included Lyn Durant, township supervisor, and Jon Kangas, township manager.

Each spoke about a common goal of bettering the community. Both Durant and Kangas showed appreciation for the credit union staying in Marquette, re-purposing an old property, and creating a new, collaborative space for the community.

With shovels in hand, McFarland joined several Honor Credit Union team members, Marquette Township officials, representatives, and community partners to make it official and break ground on the new location.

Honor Credit Union’s new Marquette Member Center will be just a short drive down the road from the existing Marquette location at 105 CR 492 and is set to open in the Spring of 2024.

The new location will provide existing services, such as a night drop deposit box, a coin counting machine, a full-service lobby, and the addition of a reservable community space for both members and non-members and new video teller technology available in the drive-thru lanes with extended hours.

Groundbreaking ceremony attendees included Rich Rossway on behalf of U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman, Jennifer Figler on behalf of state Rep. Jen Hill, Ernest Johnson joined the other representatives from Marquette Township and Honor’s Commercial Loan Officer KC Bjorne, Mortgage Loan Originator Adam Carpenter, VP of Member Experience Jennifer Patrick, Northern Regional Manager Jamie Gollakner, Member Service Manager Alyssa Milner, and several community partners.
