Joe Havican

An Upper Peninsula resident with decades of experience has been promoted.

Todd Maki, President and CEO of First Bank, Upper Michigan said in a release that he “is pleased to announce the promotion of Joe Havican to Senior Loan Officer.”

Havican joined First Bank, Upper Michigan in 2022 as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer, in the Marquette Office.

According to the release, Havican has worked in commercial lending for 20 years establishing business relationships in the Marquette and surrounding areas.

He graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Finance degree and is very involved in the community.

Havican has served as Rotary President and is a current Rotary member; he has been the treasurer for the Marquette Tennis Association for 37 years.

Havican said he is looking forward to helping his former and new customers with their commercial lending needs.

He lives in Marquette with his wife Stefanie.
