Townwide rummage sale coming June 9-11

ISHPEMING — Get ready rummage, sale that is!

The GINCC Town-wide Rummage Sale will be held on its traditional weekend of June 9-11 and registration is open.

This will be the eleventh-year the chamber has organized the event for the communities of the West End of Marquette County.

The event is open to anyone in Negaunee, Ishpeming, Champion, Republic, Michigamme or surrounding townships.

Registration fee is $10 which gets your sale listed in a printed and digital directory distributed by the GINCC the on June 8. The directory will be sectioned into categories such as: Downtown Ishpeming, Negaunee Township, West Ishpeming, Champion, ect.

In each section, the list will contain the location of the sale, top items and the days/hours each sale will run. Participants can set their own hours. Name, phone numbers and email address will not be published. Participants are responsible for their own sale.

Publicly will be going out via social media and our traditional outlets of radio, television and newspaper. Typically, we get 40 to 50 rummage sales registered for a full weekend of second-hand shopping.

You can register online via a Google form available on the GINCC website or Facebook page, or stop in the office during regular hours. Deadline to register is Friday, June 2 at 5 p.m. Go to gincc.org for more information and to register, or stop by the GINCC office.

Another event in the works is the annual GINCC Children’s Carnival. This year’s date is being set for Wednesday, June 14 at River Rock Lanes & Banquet Center in Ishpeming. The event features back-yard carnival games, local first responder vehicles, summer educational opportunities and free hot dogs

The Children’s Carnival is a free event for elementary age kids and sponsored by GINCC member J-Goods Plumbing and Heating. Also attending will be the Ishpeming Fire Department along with other community service organizations. All kids attending are eligible to register in a drawing for a new bicycle.

All our events are made possible by the GINCC Rock Stars: Northern Michigan University, TruNorth Federal Credit Union, Bell Auxiliary, Upper Peninsula Power Company, Cleveland-Cliffs and Eagle Mine.
